I was just cleaning some old files out of my laptop this morning, when I saw a file named "Good Karma". I don't remember ever seeing it before.
I opened it up to check it out and found that it must have been a file I saved from an email.
Inside, the first page on the slideshow said "This is what the Dalai Lama has to say for 2007, Instructions for Life" (Better late than never, I always say)
There's so much stuff that goes around the internet, and I really don't know much about the Dalai Lama, so I can't verify that he is the source.
That notwithstanding, they are great words to live by.
There were 19 "life statements" in all, but I thought I would just share the ones that I hope I remember each day so I can apply them to my real estate career. I hope you find them interesting.
Instructions For (Real Estate) Life
When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
Live a good and honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
Share your knowledge. It is a way to immortality.
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
The above words are pretty good, but I think the most important ones are
Follow the three "R"s
Respect for Self
Respect for others
Responsibility for your actions
As agents we all know that these are the most trying of times and everyday is a struggle, I can only speak for myself, of course, but if I can get through this market with my honor, dignity, and sanity, it will only make the success that lies ahead that much sweeter.
